MEET THE ORTHODONTIST
Dr. Josh Parker was born and raised in Baton Rouge and graduated from Central Private High School. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree at LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans. While in dental school, he was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society, C. Edmunds Kells Dental Honor Society, received several scholarships and awards for academic excellence, and graduated at the top of his class.
After dental school, Dr. Parker decided to further his education in the field of orthodontics to help change people’s lives by creating beautiful smiles! He completed his three-year orthodontic specialty residency and received a Master’s of Science degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, which was ranked the #1 dental school in the country by U.S. News. His graduate research was on lingual orthodontics (braces behind your teeth) and worked closely with Drs. Salome and Comella who together have treated thousands of patients with lingual orthodontic appliances. Dr. Parker was recently chosen to present his graduate research project at OrthoVOICE 2014, an Orthodontic International Conference and Exposition in Las Vegas.
Dr. Parker recently opened his own practice, Parker Orthodontics, in Baton Rouge and Central.

Outside the office, Dr. Parker enjoys golfing, running, and cheering for the LSU Tigers with his wife and pediatric dentist, Dr. Erin Maturin. They have a 4-year old son, Jackson and a 2-year old daughter, Jolie.
